On Behalf of | Jan 30, 2013 | Workplace Accidents |

Sometimes, accidents occur in the workplace. Workplace accidents can be very harmful to workers. This can especially be the case in the construction industry.

Construction site accidents can cause construction workers to suffer major injuries. Such accidents can sometimes even result in a construction worker’s death.

Recently, a fatal construction accident occurred in Texas.

The accident happened on Monday at a construction site in Frisco, Texas. The construction site in question is for a water line installation project.

That afternoon, a construction worker was performing work in a trench at the construction site. The worker in question was a 31-year-old man.

Reportedly, this trench then collapsed. It is not yet known what specifically caused the trench to collapse. The 31-year-old man died as a result of this trench collapse. The article on the Star Local News’ website which reported this story did not mention if anyone else was hurt in the collapse.

It has been reported that the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is currently in the process of investigating this construction accident. One wonders what findings this investigation will ultimately yield.

As this tragic accident underscores, construction accidents can cause a great deal of harm to workers and can sometimes even have fatal results. Thus, construction accidents can be a very serious type of workplace accident.

Consequently, one hopes that all employers in the construction industry will take all proper steps to prevent construction accidents and will do everything they reasonably can to protect their employees from harm.
