Is carpal tunnel cramping your style at work?

Suffering an injury in the office is becoming more of a problem for people. While it may seem less likely to get injured while sitting at your desk, there are office-related injuries that can cause a great deal of pain and suffering, such as carpal tunnel syndrome.

Experts have noted that these types of injuries can be avoided by standing up and stretching, or taking a short walk every 20 minutes or so. With so much work now being done in front of a computer, these short breaks can help reduce the risk of carpal tunnel.

But what if you work in an environment where you feel discouraged from taking short stretch breaks? As we mentioned in a previous post, repetitive motion injuries may require surgery to help relieve pain and promote recovery. If your workplace is the cause of an injury and it requires medical attention, are you entitled to work-related benefits?
