Wyoming natural gas field explosion injures 5

Workers' compensation in Colorado and around the US is an important topic to understand if a person has been hurt at work. If a person is involved in a workplace accident or has been diagnosed with an illness that is related to their work environment or job responsibilities, the injured worker has a right to inquire about benefits, despite who was "at fault" in causing the accident.

Just six hours from Colorado, there was a fire and tank explosion at a natural gas field in western Wyoming. Five injured workers needed to seek medical treatment following the accident.

The blast happened in the morning, and police said they received several calls around that time. A spokesperson for the gas company said that some welding work was being done on the condensate tanks at the field site, but the exact cause of the explosion has not been determined yet.

Firefighters were on the scene immediately, and the fire burned out by afternoon. The gas company spokesperson said that one of the workers who was injured was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. The other workers who were hurt were taken by ambulance to a local hospital and clinic.

According to the spokesperson, a drilling rig in use near the facility where the blast occurred was not affected. She also added there was no evident environmental impact. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was called in and is investigating the situation.

People can be injured while working in any type of job, but individuals who work in industrial jobs are generally exposed to a far greater risk of injury or death while doing their job. If a person has been injured in an industrial accident, it is important to investigate the situation to correctly determine the cause and to find out what kinds of compensation may be available.
